“Describe Lithuania in one word.” “Basketball.” This answer is not surprising as Lithuania has a vibrant basketball culture, which unites generations. If you visit Lithuania, you might easily get the impression that whoever can plays basketball. There are basketball courts everywhere: practically any school has one; plus there are many public ones. Basketball games are a popular way of spending free time for many Lithuanians. Not only does playing basketball help stay physically fit, it also builds communities.
